KBI Biopharma was selected as a recipient of the 2017 CMO Leadership Awards, as determined by surveys conducted by Life Science Leader magazine. Now in its 6th year, Life Science Leader’s CMO Leadership Awards provide readers with accurate and reliable customer feedback to assist them in choosing a reputable partner for their development and manufacturing needs.
For the 2017 CMO Leadership Awards, Life Science Leader magazine teamed up with Industry Standard Research (ISR) to determine the award recipients. More than 80 contract manufactures were assessed by 26 performance metrics in ISR’s annual Contract Manufacturing Quality Benchmarking survey. Survey participants were recruited from Pharma and Biopharma companies of all sizes and were screened for decision-making influence related to working with contract manufacturing suppliers. Respondents only evaluate companies with which they have worked on an outsourced project within the past 18 months. This level of qualification ensures that survey responses are based on actual involvement with contract manufacturers and clear experiential data.
There are six core categories: Quality, Reliability, Capabilities, Expertise, Compatibility and the newest category – Development (recognizing companies evaluated favorably by those who have utilized their development related services). Winners in these categories are judged by their customers as either exceeding expectations or as top performers. CMOs have the opportunity to win in up to three groups of outsourcing respondents – Big Pharma, Small Pharma, and Overall (combined Big and Small Pharma).
KBI Biopharma won a 2017 CMO Leadership Award in the following:
Quality (Overall)
Reliability (Overall)
Capabilities (Overall)
Expertise (Overall)
Compatibility (Overall)

KBI was also recognized for the additional “Individual Attribute Awards”: Strength of Science, On Time, Right First Time, Innovation, Cultural Fit, and Accessible Senior Management.
