Did you know cheer and KBI Biopharma have a lot in common? More than you might think!
Through teamwork, dedication, and a shared passion for uplifting others, cheerleaders inspire and support those around them, leaving a lasting impact. At KBI, we use our commitment to collaboration and shared passion to positively impact patients' lives around the world. Cheerleaders are constantly learning, challenging themselves to grow, and striving for excellence. Similarly, our team members strive for those same tenets in our everyday lives. One team member in particular, Mélanie Calleri, demonstrates these at work as well as on her cheer team.
Mélanie is a Document Control Coordinator and meticulously manages the flow of documents with precision and care at our Geneva facility. Beyond her professional career, Mélanie is an accomplished cheerleader and dancer. She's a member of the Geneva Wild Eagles Cheerleaders, the official cheer squad for the Geneva Servette Hockey Club and the Geneva Lions basketball team. If doing cheer on solid ground wasn't enough, Mélanie and her squad also perform on ice! They captivate audiences of up to 7,000 people, spreading joy and excitement with every routine.
Her athletic endeavors recently led her to the USASF The Dance Worlds™ competition in Orlando, Florida. This was a celebratory feat for the Geneva Wild Eagles Cheerleaders, as this was the first year they qualified to compete in the world championships.
Mélanie has always been a performer. Her path to cheer started at just three years old when she started to dance modern jazz. She soon found herself drawn to the electrifying energy, team spirit, and "dream big" mentality of cheerleading, and the rest is history. All these years later, cheer remains a source of boundless joy, a space where she can express herself freely and immerse herself in dance. Despite the demands of balancing work, family, and training, Mélanie finds solace and strength in music, fueling her passion to achieve her goals with unwavering determination.
Her cheer journey has left an indelible mark on her work ethic and approach to teamwork. She attributes her organizational skills, commitment to delivering high-quality work, and perseverance to her years doing cheer. Her contagious positivity and unwavering support for her colleagues create a feeling of community and a vibrant work environment. Just as she supports her squad, Mélanie uplifts her team members at KBI, fostering a culture of collaboration in Geneva.
As Mélanie takes on new challenges, she does so with a spirit of determination and optimism. In the same way that she is a source of support for those around her, Mélanie shared that her KBI team champions her development and endeavors, both at work and in cheer. Some of her Geneva colleagues most recently rallied behind her and made an encouraging video wishing her and the squad all the best at the USASF championship.
What's next for Mélanie? At work, she is planning to become a qualified trainer. Despite loving to perform, she admits that she can be quite introverted, but is excited to take on the new challenge. As for cheer, Mélanie and her squad will be competing in the Swiss Cheer Championship next month and their goal is to place first. We will be sure to cheer for Mélanie every step of the way!
