Dr. Nordwald is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he earned his PhD in protein engineering. Following his academic pursuits, he ventured into the biotech startup realm, dedicating 3 years to devising a groundbreaking manufacturing process for an enzyme aimed at reducing kidney stone risk. His expertise was instrumental in scaling this process to a remarkable 5m3 fermentation scale, culminating in a successful commercial launch.

Subsequently, Dr. Nordwald brought his vast experience to KBI Biopharma, where he has been a pivotal figure for close to 6 years. Initially leading the microbial cell line development group, he now spearheads the microbial process technology and innovation group. With an unwavering commitment to revolutionizing the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Nordwald is driven by a vision of swift and cost-effective drug development.
